Third album of Anekdoten and I finish so far. Soon we will
have the new album since they are already recording it.
The continuous formation being always the same one, and the continuous group advancing in
their style, being already, without any doubt, Anekdoten, a group with a current
sound, a group of the 90 that little relationship has with the 70, and it is this way like
it is necessary to see to this type of groups. Creativity, evolution and innovation inside
the progressive rock, as original as they can be Radiohead. The one that looks for
creativity has a lot where to choose in these 90.
Simon Nordberg of Landberk collaborates that contributes keyboards.
This third album the thing calms down a little, without a doubt it is the album less hard
of all, the but relaxed, more melancholic, more melodic and more symphonic, surely the but
appropriate so that the fans of the progressive rock enters in Anekdoten.
All the themes are very prominent without exception, from the rhythmic "From
Within", to the most potent "Kiss of Life", the more melodic "Groundbound"
of the best thing of the album, the symphonic "Slow Fire" with strong
mellotrones, the dark "Firefly", the great instrumental "The Sun
Absolute" with a rhythm of under repetitive and addictive and cello melodies and
mellotron, the súper-soft and melancholic that closes the disk, "For
Someone", and overalls the incredible "Hole", softer and with
potent mellotrons, where maybe the print is appreciated left by the parallel project Morte
Macabre.
Anekdoten continues with this indispensable album at an enviable level, and I am
for sure with the fourth album they continued surprising us and evolving in its style.
