ATEMPO
Abismos
del tiempo
(Record Runner, 2003)
Atempo is another product of
the new generation of the Argentinean progressive rock, but it is not exactly to simply
categorize to this band as another more than the heap. The interesting of this disk is the
participation in Mariela González's voices, the well-known singer of Nexus.
Abismos del tiempo it is a great mixture of sensations, sustained by a
great work, so much compositive as interpretive. It consists of 4 tracks: Heroes
de la Soledad (11minutes), Lluvia Mística (7 and half), Carcel
de Sueños (5 and half) and El Final (47 minutes),
definitively the best in the disk. We meet with many textures, emotions and intensities,
passing of very melodic and melancholic moments until more aggressive and more strident
passages. This makes feel the one that listens the sensation of feeling inside in a great
lyrical and musical adventure. The achieved atmospheres are very well supported by the
incredible voice of Mariela and the whole instrumentation, but in particular for
the guitar, without subtracting him protagonism to the rest.
El Final it is, like I said before, the best part in the disk, where
invited musicians they are added in flute and clarinet to the classic voice formation,
guitars, keyboards, bass and drums(besides the choristers). In this topic many shades are
appreciated influenced by classic sounds progressive of all the times, but
with an unquestionable personal mark characteristic of the band.
It is really necessary much more than commenting but I believe that what should make the
one that is reading this is to get this disk and to discover for themselves the
majestousity and virtuosity of this wonderful work that it won't surely defraud them, it
is more, they will thank it to me, or rather, they will thank it to these impressive
musicians.
