"ANGELS AND DEMONS"

XTREMA CULTURA FESTIVAL

(Saturday 29 of March of 2003, Submarino Amarillo Bar, vía Chorros de Milla, Mérida, Venezuela)

AGONÍA (Black-Death Metal)

AETERNUS SUM (Prog-Fusion-Metal)

SUBCONSCIENTE? (Death-Power-Metal)

They were approximately the 12:30 am, hour of the show of the companies of the event Aeternus Sum from Caracas, in what would be the first visit from the band to the city of Merida that already knows some topic of their demo CD “World of Changes” thanks to the local radio. They gave beginning to their show in the most difficult way, with an atmosphere a hostile point due to the adrenaline developed by the public until the moment, they opened up with “The hardest way”, an excellent topic that it allowed to see the level and the position of the band, flirting with irregular compasses that some in the public didn't know to nod, leaving freedom so that some “nice” shows, without shame some, their ignorance as for the rhythmic ones progressive and elaborated sounds. They continued with “Down”, already fear well-known of their demo cd, printing him more force to the show, then “Entropy” where the band showed more stability in execution and security in scene when Henry (Vocal-guitar), it challenges the sceptic that tried to intimidate to the band, thing that most of the assistants took place, giving faith of the support that the band was winning in the public. “Confusion Winds” it was a great moment when they take out to scene a four to season the topic, receiving a great ovation. The moment was lent so that again Henry left white its position and it questioned the behavior of some that continued without understanding the proposal. “Insanity part II” he brought us as surprise an end that took us to a fragment of “Mouth for War”, classic of Pantera of the disk “Vulgar Display of Power”, leaving us a pleasant mouth flavor. They continued with “Reason”, with an atmosphere that left clear who had the control of the situation, maintaining a satisfactory ovation. While some requested more, did Aeternus Sum say goodbye with “Unstable balance”, concluding this way a show with a lot of feeling and good execution level, does convincing to a difficult one publish avid of harrowing riff, and being given to the task of colonizing hearings virgins, was winning followers in a city that hopes see to the band again, the scene clever for the closing band, Subconciente?

After a small recess, did it arrive the hour that you went up to the scenario the most prospective trio in the night, Subconciente? who time made they didn't play for its countrymen. As it is habit in their concerts, they began the Sep with an sequencer intro, full of stormy sounds that looked for to notice, in fact, in the subconscious of those there present. Past the long intro was made feel the forcefulness of the band, beginning the Sep with one of its more recent topics, “Luz”, which will be included in its new CD “Catarsis”, next to leave. The topic is characterized by its beginning with a typical Venezuelan rhythm of 6/8 poisoned to the end to achieve a brutal effect. The public enough effusive was, only not filling the local but making practically impossible to move of where one was located, a lot of headbanging and emotion. Without giving respiration, the trio began to play “Flujo”, another very energetic topic, giving passes then to the brutal one “Vientre”, of the demo CD of the same name. In this topic it is necessary to highlight Rodolfo's work after the drums, with some extremely interesting setbacks. Continuing with the topics of this demo, it arrived “Sepia”, one of the better known ones, even sung by some; here already Eduardo had the public more than dominated with his setting in scene, playing an alone one with a bottle that made the times of slide and later he went to stop to the floor without breaking. Before a more and more delirious and energetic public, in spite of the hour and the exhaustion, Subconciente? played “Amor”, another of the topics of their demo, a little quicker and with much more solidity of that than it sounds in the CD. Did a series of sound effects leave Eduardo's pedals, creating an interesting intro for the following discharge, “Intravenous”, do fear that, the same as the previous ones, does it show the dexterity of the members of Subconciente? in their instruments, particularly Santiago in the bass. The public requested so they played “Silicon”, staying bis for the the topic “Morfina”, with the one which yes they closed definitively the Sep, leaving the public from Merida more than satisfied of having in his earth the one that I dare to qualify like one of the best and more original metal bands that has heard, more in a gender in that it is so difficult to find groups with new elements to offer. Subconciente? they have the merit of being only 3 musicians, sounding with a great power: Eduardo with their powerful guitar, the voice distorted to the style power-metal and their letters inspired by Nietzche and other damned authors; Santiago, a real monster in the bass, without necessity of more than 4 strings to stuff as much as I space there is, even making alone, and chanting with a voice distorted to the style death-metal; lastly, but not of less, Rodolfo, an entire phenomenon after the drums, with two plates ride to drive the rhythm of the songs and an impressive speed in twice as much pedal. Let us wait that soon this band that has already had the fortune of playing in diverse cities of Venezuela, transcend our frontiers, because they really deserve it.
