After abandoning Yes after the second album "Time and to Word",
Peter Banks formed Flash that also had in this first album Tony Kaye
that Yes had just abandoned also.
Flash sounds to Yes. This first album says that it is an alternative to
the "The Yes Álbum". If "The Yes Álbum" went
the logical evolution to "Time and a Word", this Flash is also it,
but from Peter Banks's point of view instead of Jon Anderson, and it is
frankly also a great album that for sure it would love to all the fans of the first Yes.
It is necessary to also keep in mind that "The Yes Álbum" appeared
before one year, with what can have influenced his in Banks when making this album.
We have themes that could fit perfectly in the "The Yes Álbum" like "Small
Beginnings" where we realize that Peter Banks is a great guitarist and
that his style doesn't differ too much of that of Howe, "Morning Haze"
an acoustic theme with air country and the excellent "Children of the
Universe". Highlighting the theme of 13 minutes "Dreams of Heaven"
where Banks also shows us its facet but jazz in the great instrumental part, coming
closer to the sound Canterbury. The disk finishes with the beautiful ballad "The
Time it Takes".
A great album in definitive that it loved to the fans of Yes.
